Table Tennis Players NG Mui Wui and WONG Ting Ting Winning Their First Pool Events
CHAN Yui Lam Finishing Fourth at 100m Butterfly

Hong Kong Team’s events – swimming and table tennis commenced today (25 August).  CHAN Yui Lam clocked 1:07.20 and CHEUNG Ho Ying made her personal best in 1:10.68 in Women’s 100m Butterfly S14 heats, being the third and eighth swimmer to advance to the final.  Chan later finished the final in 1:06.65, losing by just 0.15 second to rank fourth while her teammate CHEUNG Ho Ying touched the wall in 1:11.29, putting her eighth in the event.  TANG Wai Lok ranked the 18^th in the time of 1:02.53 at Men’s 100m Butterfly S14 heats and failed to advance.

WONG Ting Ting beat Lea FERNEY from France 3-1 (12:10, 3:11, 11:6, 12:10) in the first pool event of Women’s Singles TT11.  Her teammate NG Mui Wui also triumped her opponent Maki ITO from Japan 3-1 (14:12, 11:9, 8:11, 11:3).  The duo will meet Ukraine’s Natalya KOSMINA and Russian Paralympic Committee’s Elena PROKOFEVA respectively in their second pool contest.

Hong Kong will compete in Women’s Epee Individual Category A & B as well as Women’s Singles TT11 second preliminary events in the second competition day tomorrow (26 August).
