Hong Kong Delegation Team Meeting and Simulation Training Camp

To get well-prepared for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, the Association organised a 3-day Games simulation training camp from 30 July at Hong Kong Sports Institute, facilitating the Hong Kong Delegation’s early adaptation to the COVID-19 countermeasures to be put in place for the Games. The training camp was completed smoothly this afternoon (1 August) and achieved the intended results.
During the camp, the Association held the Delegation Team Meeting to introduce the Games information and anti-epidemic points to note. Dr. CHOW Wai Sum, Kiki of Community Liaison Division, Health Promotion Branch, Health Protection and Port Health Officer Dr. TSAI Wai Wa of Communicable Disease Branch, Health Protection, Department of Health were invited to provide health advices on the prevention of Coronavirus Disease 2019.
Meanwhile, members of the Delegation were arranged to undergo a serology antibody test to evaluate the antibody level after vaccination. The Association also held Sport Science and Medical Support Briefing with Dr. MOK Nicola Wai Kuen, the Chief Physiotherapist of the Delegation, Mr. PUN Tak Kiu, the Sport Dietitian and Mr. JIANG Xiaobo, the Sport Psychologist explaining related details.
The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games is set to take place from 24 August to 5 September. A total of 64 Delegation members, including 24 athletes, will represent Hong Kong SAR in the Games and take part in eight sports, namely archery, athletics, badminton, boccia, equestrian, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair fencing.
